DeAnn Lax, Author of "Esther: The Queen of Peace"

DeAnn Lax is a visionary. Since childhood, she has been inspired to create works that encourage others to be their best. Her latest written work with Melanin Origins is part of our Bible Series, Esther: The Queen of Peace, a story that shows the importance of God's faithfulness to those who seek Him. DeAnn's God-given passion for writing led her to create theatrical productions and materialized into her first published work, A Mother’s Wish, a faith-based book for mothers and sons. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, Media Production from the University of Houston, and in 2004 with a Master of Arts & Sciences degree in Mass Communication from Texas Southern University.

DeAnn Lax is the co-host of the podcast, Brand New Day with Emily Blue. For over 15 years, she has also worked in the nonprofit sector and currently consults nonprofits. In 2018, she launched the Christian parenting ministry called Rearing Royalty, to help parents develop a more Christ-centered approach to family living that will impact generations to come. She is also the co-founder of the Athletic Formula, a 501 c 3, whose mission is to provide parents and youth with resourceful tools that help prepare them for a positive experience in activities fueled by Sports, Academics, and Faith.

In her free time, DeAnn enjoys spending time with family and volunteering as a Praise Dance instructor and a cheer coach. She is also a family and lifestyle photographer at SixThirtyThree Photography.

"I am so glad that I was able to publish my first book with Melanin Origins and that they thought enough of me to ask me to be an author in the Fruit of the Spirit Bible Series. They made the process seamless and simple. Melanin Origins is intentional about educating children and as a person who takes education seriously and that's important to me." - DeAnn Lax
